ROSCCO
ROSCCO provides before and after school activities programs for Rogers Magnet.  ROSCCO offers quality school age programs designed to meet the needs of working parents by providing a safe and stimulating environment for their children.  The Before and After School Activity Programs utilize the gyms, cafeterias, outdoor playgrounds and other facilities in the schools.  Children are accepted monthly on a pre-registered, prepaid basis.  New participants can be added during the payment cycle using a prorated fee scale.  Registration is on a first come, first served basis.  Participation is determined by space availability.  For more information click on the links below.


 HISTORY
The Rogers School Community Center Organization (ROSCCO) was incorporated as a not-for-profit in 1975.  Supported by the City of Stamford, it evolved into a partnership between the community and the Stamford Public Schools.  Originally established as a Community Center Organization to provide programs for the Cove-East side area of Stamford, today ROSCCO has grown into a citywide network with program sites in thirteen school buildings.  Parents, educators, and community representatives make up the ROSCCO Board of Directors.

To address the need for safe, structured, affordable and quality programs for families and their children.


 VISION
To work in collaboration and partnerships with community agencies to provide school-based direct service, recreational, educational, enrichment and cultural activities for families of the City of Stamford.


 ROSCCO implemented Programs
In partnership with the Stamford Public Schools, ROSCCO seeks and welcomes corporate, foundation and private contributions.  The Connecticut Departments of Education and Social Services grant funds to ROSCCO as the lead agency responsible for the implementation and administration of the following programs:

Rogers and Westover Magnet School Family Resource Centers
Stamford School Age, School Based Child Care Programs
Stamford Teen Pregnancy Prevention/Positive Youth Development Program
Cloonan Middle and Hart Magnet 21st Century Community Learning Center Programs
Stark Community School

If you are interested in enrolling your child/children in the Before/After School Programs, please visit the ROSCCO Office located in the Rogers Magnet School.  Registration packets are not mailed out.


 Before School Programs
The ROSCCO before school activity programs begin at 7:30 AM and run until the beginning of the school day Monday through Friday following the Stamford Public School calendar.  The Programs do not operate when school is not in session.  Activities include:  Indoor and Outdoor play, table games, arts & crafts, story time and a breakfast snack.  Before school program registration is on a monthly basis for five days per week.

 After School Programs
The ROSCCO after school activities programs begin at school dismissal and run until 5:30 PM Monday through Friday following the Stamford Public School calendar.  The programs do not operate when school is not in session.  Activities include: a daily snack, supervised homework time, aerobics, arts & crafts, chess, cooking projects, dance/music (culminating in an annual show), movies, outdoor play, physical games, science projects, story time and table games.  The after school program registration is on a monthly basis for a predetermined schedule of either three, four, or five days per week.
